Hooks are a staple that are used just about every day in the rigging industry.  They are offered in a wide array of sizes and designs, all created for specific jobs.  There are hooks for wire rope, web, and chain slings, that are all different in design and in some case, function.  Knowing what type of hook you need for a job is essential in completing the job quickly and safely.  Hooks come in Alloy and Carbon steel.  All hooks should have their tonnage clearly marked on the side of the hook, as well as markings telling you if it's carbon steel or alloy steel.  The Crosby Group has their markings clearly stamped on each hook along with an 'A' for Alloy and a 'C' for Carbon.  Knowing which steel your hook is made out of makes a big difference, especially when replacing the latch or coordinating rigging.  Knowledge is key in deciding which hook will better work for your needs, let Coca Sales help you to determine the best hook for your job.
